WELCOME TO PACIFIC GOLD

OUR STORY

- Pacific Gold -

Oro Del Pacifico, established in 1986, is a pioneer aquaculture company in Guatemala, characterized by its innovations and expertise. We spearheaded the advanced intensive shrimp farming technology of vannamei shrimp in Latin America, and rank among the most efficient shrimp farmers in the region. Our main export markets to date are Mexico, USA, EU and Asia.

Since our early days, we have been committed to quality and excellence within our operations. We consistently seek to create value, as well as positive impact in the broader community around us.

We strive to produce sustainable, healthy, and clean shrimp, without using chemicals or antibiotics in our operations. Our bio secure ponds are built on three pillars: clean saltwater from well points, clean pathogen-free animals, and clean-bottom ponds via a central syphon.

Our privileged location on the Pacific coast of Guatemala, together with our farming technology, allow for yearlong successful shrimp farming.

SUSTAINABILITY

We understand the importance of operating in a sustainable manner, and are therefore committed to best practices across 3 pillars.

Our operations are BAP certified and we are currently in the process of becoming ASC certified as well, a reflection of our ongoing commitment to sustainability.

Social

We value our employees, their families, and the broader community around us. Firstly, our operations also ensure safety at work for all our employees and collaborators. Beyond this, we are committed to having a positive impact in Guatemala. We provide programs to improve the quality of life of our employees, as well as focusing on education, health, and empowering women.

Environmental

As pioneers and constant innovators of aquaculture in Guatemala, our initiatives have focused on developing an intensive, sustainable shrimp farming system in both of our farms to minimize the impact on the environment. We use the least amount of land to farm our shrimp, and rely on well water to reduce our footprint. We also have programs geared towards mangrove and estuary conservation.

Production

Our in-house intensive farming technology in both our farms using well points as a source of water, the best genetics in the world and a clean production system allow us to produce the worlds best shrimp.
